City is a Synthesis — talks about Zagreb

About twenty conversations gathered within the book have been published over the years on the Vizkultura portal as part of a series of texts on the urban development of the city of Zagreb. Several conversations of the same theme created for related projects by Saša Šimpraga are included, as well as several new texts created exclusively for the book. A total of 28 individual or group conversations provide insight into the historical and current aspects of urban development and potential of the city, while also offering visions of urban alternatives for Zagreb. Some texts relate to the history and current state of some of Zagreb’s neighborhoods, others touch on completed and unfinished parts of the city, newly built structures, squares and parks, pedestrian zones and public spaces, city renewal with a focus on the historic core and historicist buildings, elements of water in public spaces, and other urban details, as well as possibilities for sustainable and climate aspects of Zagreb. The focus of all conversations is on the future and potentials of the city.
