In his first artist book, Zagreb photographer Davor Konjikušić combines photographs and his own diaries, creating an emotionally powerful artistic view of the world around us. All of the photographs were taken in Southeast Europe — Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Moldova. In the book we find the intimate confessions of the author, but also strong metaphors formed by the interaction of text and photos. The choice of paper, format and binding also support this idea and move the book further away from the standard photography monographs. The cover is raw and almost blank, while the representative photo is moved to the back cover. To make it even more authentic and personal, the typefaces used in the book have been designed for this occasion.
