Pripadati i ne pripadati

Lovrenović is an essay and novel writer, travel writer, editor, intellectual, though among all that is most important is not the biography: That Lovrenović is the guardian of a culture on the brink of extinction. All his textual and intellectual actions, and thus life itself, he tied to two worlds. The first is Bosnia and Herzegovina, one based on the intersection of its differences, where this difference is specific. The other is the one worn by the middle-bosnian Croats, an integral part of that above-world. Both attempts are the same in an attempt to conserve water between squeezed fingers. It is nothing new that cultures are failing, that they leave room for new ones to die, and that identities like this one, Bosnia and Herzegovina, are being changed in a sense and given new characteristics and meanings. And it’s good that there’s someone like Lovrenović who refuses to believe that. The cultures and identities that managed to survive may be different from others only because they had more Lovrenović.
