People give themselves away in different ways, and often with different incentives, to the statolatorium. When a flood of warm feelings for the state overwhelms them, they’re willing to do or refuse to do very different things. It is not uncommon for patriots to dig out the eyes and gut of other patriots for insufficient, excessive, or abusive surrender to patriotism. Sometimes a complete so-called political life can be presented as a repertoire of conflict and bloodshed over the method of worship of the official deity. The dedicated entity itself, of course, remains untouchable. The Patriotic Matrix, based on a romantic abstraction and not at all the abstract protection provided by the legislature and the police, is seductive enough to accommodate countless and mutually antagonistic users. These texts, though futilely, are in favour of her being completely discarded.
