Kako smo stanovali ⁄ How we used to inhabit

abook edition

Recent processes of transformation of Zagreb neighbourhoods, wild construction and construction entrepreneurship as well as the conversion of apartments and buildings into daily rent have changed the market value of residential space and the architectural image of neighbourhoods. In this context, the questions of relationship to the housing of the one who inhabits, but also the influence of the community on the city landscape are being raised. The book works on two levels. Firstly, it critically questions the ways and reasons for construction and its impact on the community and the environment. Secondly, it offers an intimate collage from the perspective of an individual, who, affected by the aforementioned changes, also changes her attitude towards housing and living. Through samples of in situ found and systematically collected construction material and its photographic, graphic and textual interpretations, the book questions newly created values.
